Candidate Statement

Greetings.

I am J. Adam "Jeffery" Jefferson, a long-term Houstonian with more than 30 years residency. I have been an admirer, user and listener of KPFT for more than 10 years, but learned about Pacifica FM Radio Stations while living in San Diego, California.

My interest as a candidate for the KPFT FM 90.1 Board results from my awareness of the station's broad-based format and how the station makes a serious effort to impact total diversity in reaching the local community with its programming. My intent as a Board member includes teaming with members and committees to enhance current programs, identify and introduce "new" concepts that impact local communities educationally and culturally and increasing fundraising results that impact accomplish of KPFT goals. Additionally, it is my professional commitment and dedication to represent KPFT in a positive, diplomatic and tactful manner.

My goal(s) are three-fold. One, to work and team with the KPFT Board to support and encourage current and future programming that positively coincides with the station's mission; two, to identify and cultivate current and future fund supporters for budgeting; and three, to represent KPFT to the community that continues to impact and improve on the diversity relationships.

I am committed to attending meetings, joining, teaming and working with committees, attending events in a supportive manner and volunteering my fundraising skills for fund development. I am
thoroughly familiar with Robert's Rules of Order and Parliamentary Procedures and the orderly management of meetings. To support my qualifications and candidate interest, I submit the following statements of support.

I received my college education at Texas Southern University, earning the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree while majoring in Marketing, with a minor in Human Resources Management. My education includes the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, with a concentration in Executive Management. I have traveled for the purpose of business and pleasure to locations in Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, Central America, the West Indies, the Continental United States and Canada.

With an exciting career that extends over 30 years, I've held positions in marketing, administration, financial and operations management with corporate, institutional or government entities that include Allstate Insurance Company; Dow Chemical, USA; Texas Southern University; Houston Community College System and currently with the City of Houston as a Senior Superintendent as manager of the Neighborhoods and Community Relations Section. I am a former college instructor at the undergraduate and graduate student levels. I founded Jefferson Denniandrus Group, Inc., an Advertising and Public Relations firm that managed advertising accounts for ExxonMobil, General Motors Corporation, Continental Airlines and other major corporations.

My management skills and business acumen have aided me in developing positive relationships and creating "win-win" partnerships with the diverse communities in Houston. I have positive partnerships with corporate, institutional and governmental representatives that include charitable supporters and contributors to KPFT programming.

I, J. Adam "Jeffery" Jefferson, am confident that I can/will serve the KPFT Local Station professionally and positively.
