How to fill out and return your ballot

Use a black pen. You will find detailed instructions on one side of the ballot and a list of candidates with columns of rectangles on the other side.

Inside your ballot mailing, you will find information about the election along with candidate statements for all candidates. Please note that listener members only vote for listener candidates, even though staff candidate statements are printed in your mailing.

The ballot gives you the opportunity to rank candidates in order of choice. You get to indicate a 1st choice, a 2nd choice, a 3rd choice and so on, for as many or as few candidates as you wish to support.
Please note that you have incentive to rank in order of preference all candidates that you would be happy to see elected to the Local Station Board
.
Do not rank candidates that you do not wish to see elected. "Bullet voting" (ranking only 1 candidate) does not help the chances of election of that candidate. You should instead rank in order of preference all candidates that you could support. If you like two or more candidates equally, you may indicate more than one candidate for a ranking http://www.kpft.org/elections/elections_listeners.php#electionmethod.
You can view the ballot instructions http://www.kpft.org/elections/ballot.php.

Once you decide on your ranking, find the name of your first choice candidate in the list of columns and fill in the rectangle in the first column next to that candidate. Then fill in the rectangle in the 2nd column next to your second choice candidate, and so on, for as many candidates as you wish to rank.
After filling out the ballot, separate it from the stub on the bottom of the ballot by tearing along the dotted lines. Place the ballot (not the stub) in the "Secret Ballot Envelope" and place the "Secret Ballot Envelope" in the double window envelope.
Then sign the stub on the line above the bar code, insert the stub in the double window envelope and make sure that the return address shows through the lower window and your signature and bar code show through the upper window.
The return address is:
KPFT Local Station Board Election
2450 Louisiana, Ste. 400-616
Houston, TX 77006

Then place a 37 cent stamp on the envelope and mail it by November 24.
Your ballot must be received by November 29, and it must be mailed via the US Postal System.
Ballots may not be dropped off at the station.
