KPFT Elections Committee

ON AIR CAMPAIGN VIOLATION REPORT

Dear Fellow KPFT Listener/Supporter:

KPFT Radio will soon be holding its second election to fill 9 Listener and 3 Staff seats.
The elections committee is responsible for the accountability and fairness of the election process.
We want to make sure that the nominations, campaigns and voting process are conducted in a fair manner.
We have established a set of campaign policies that all programmers and candidates are required to follow.

  • On Air campaigning will consist of “Candidate Forums”, these will be moderated and aired on a regularly scheduled basis throughout the campaign period.
  • No programmer, their guests and/or candidates may use the airwaves of KPFT to campaign outside of the designated “Candidate Forums”.
  • Should you hear what you believe to be an On Air Campaign Violation, i.e. programmer, guests, candidate(s) or anyone on the airwaves either promoting specific candidates or making disparaging remarks about any candidate, we ask that you submit this form as a formal report.
The alleged campaign violation will then be investigated fully and appropriate steps taken by our
Election Coordinator. In order to insure accountability of this report process, no anonymous reports will be considered valid. This form must be completed in its entirety. Please submit completed report via internet as appropriate or you may hand deliver to Mr. Bobby Muldoon, 419 Lovett Blvd. Houston TX 77006
